Amma is a potter who works out of her home studio in coastal North Carolina. She started working with clay in 2023 after moving to the Tarheel State and learning about the vibrant legacy of ceramics in North Carolina. She fully committed to the craft after taking a sculpture class with Carol Gardner in 2024. She is a member of the Coastal Carolina Clay Guild and continues to learn from the Cape Fear region’s wealth of community teachers and her own dedicated studio practice. She is having the most fun when coiling stoneware vessels, making altered wheel forms, pinching pots, sculpting, carving, and sgraffito-ing.
